About the Artist

Bio.

Tim Murdoch has lived and worked in Boston since 1990. He graduated from Montserrat College of Art in 1989 and received his MFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2003. Over the years Tim has taken many jobs in support of his work including; carpenter, cabinetmaker, gym teacher and currently the sculpture professor at Clark University. His work has been shown at galleries and alternative spaces in Boston, New York and in Europe. Over the past two years Tim has won a Blanche Colman Grant, a Visual Arts Sea Grant, and an MCC finalist grant. Tim recently completed two public art installations, one a floating project in the Boston Harbor and the other in the atrium of Mass Art’s new campus center. Currently he is working on a permanent commissioned, kinetic, installation for a new dorm building under construction at Mass College of Art and Design.
